Information we collect automatically
Like almost every website, we use an analytics service (Google Analytics 4) that automatically collects standard usage data when you visit: which pages you view, how long you stay, roughly where you're visiting from (derived from your IP address, not your exact location), your device and browser type, and which site referred you here. This data is aggregated and used to understand what's useful and what isn't — we don't use it to identify you personally.
This analytics service uses cookies and similar technologies (like local storage) to do this. You can block or delete these through your browser settings at any time, and the site will continue to work normally without them — analytics cookies aren't required for anything you actually use on the site.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We don't run advertising networks that track you across other websites. We don't require you to create an account or hand over personal information to read any guide on this site.
Your choices
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking generally using Google's official browser opt-out add-on, or simply block third-party cookies in your browser's privacy settings. If you're contacting us with a privacy question or a data request, use our contact page — we'll do our best to help.
International visitors
This site is read by people in many countries, and data protection rights vary by where you live — for example, visitors in the European Economic Area and UK have rights under GDPR, including the right to know what data is held about them and to request its deletion. If you're contacting us to exercise a specific legal right, let us know which one and we'll respond appropriately.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country).
