The biggest Strip resorts run multi-acre pool complexes with several distinct pools rather than one — often a livelier day-club-adjacent pool, a quieter adults' pool, and sometimes a dedicated family pool, all on the same property. Smaller or older resorts tend to have a single, more modest pool. If pool time is a real priority, check a specific resort's pool layout rather than assuming — this varies enormously between otherwise similar-priced properties.
Day club overlap
Some hotel pools double as full day club venues on weekends, with DJs, cover charges for non-guests, and a distinctly loud, party atmosphere during the day. If you want a quiet pool afternoon, check whether your hotel's pool runs day club programming and on which days — hotel guests sometimes get separate quieter areas even when a day club is running elsewhere on the same property, but not always.
Indoor pools, for the off-season or the heat-averse
A smaller number of resorts maintain indoor or partially covered pools, useful in winter when outdoor pools may be closed or simply too cold, or in peak summer when shade is scarce. If you're visiting outside the warmer months and a pool matters to your trip, checking for indoor or heated options before booking is worth the extra step.
What to actually check before booking
Pool hours, whether it's heated, whether it's adults-only or family-friendly, and current opening dates (some rooftop and seasonal pools close for parts of winter) all vary by property and by season — check the specific hotel's current pool page directly rather than assuming from a past visit or a general reputation.
